In an effort to make an informed assessment of the best practices in industry-institution cooperation and to make recommendations for the furtherance of TEVT in Indonesia, the Inter-Governmental Organization for Human Resources Development in Asia and the Pacific Region, Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education, Manila, Philippines in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Jakarta, Indonesia, held a Special Program on Industry-Institution Linkage Systems in Technical Education and Vocational Training for Human Resources Development.
The special program is being conducted from 5 - 17 July 2005 at the Seoul Institute for Vocational Training and Advanced Technology, in Seoul, Republic of Korea, a model country for industry-institution cooperation.
The program aims to achieve its objective of broadening the perspectives of the delegates on current policies and practices in the industry-institution linkages.
At the conclusion of the program the delegates are expected to be able to:

Compare the present status of TEVT for HRD in Indonesia with other countries in Asia and the Pacific region vis-?vis their industry-institution linkage systems;

Obtain first-hand knowledge on Korean industry-institution linkage systems: its policies, initiatives and programs, and learn lessons from exemplary cases;

Develop models and strategies for implementing an effective industry-institution linkage system for the benefit of TEVT systems in Indonesia.
CPSC Director General, Dr. Man-Gon Park, handles the overall direction of the 2-week program as Project Coordinator. He is being assisted by Prof. Myong-Hee Kim as Project Co-Coordinator.
