Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) jointly concluded the 11-day International Workshop on "Developing e-Learning Contents", a partnership program of CPSC and ADBI to develop capacity and proficiency in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of exemplary computer courseware for an effective technology-based learning.
The workshop, which ran from 8-17 February 2006, was attended by 47 delegates and resource persons, with extensive knowledge and skill in courseware development and multimedia technology, from a total of 19 member countries of the ADB and CPSC. Resource Speakers are from the ADB, ADBI, CPSC, Microsoft Corporation, FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, IRRI, Forum for Information Technology of Nepal, Distance Learning Center of Sri Lanka and KRIVET of the Rep. of Korea.
The employment of multimedia technology in education was the key focus of the workshop as it seeks to address challenges in education brought about by inequitable access and to expand educational opportunities.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by Dr. Yun-Soo Mok, President of the PukYong National University (PKNU), Busan, Republic of Korea and Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs, HE Mr. Alberto Romulo, who was represented by Honorable Edsel Custodio, DFA Undersecretary for International Economic Relations and Philippine Senior Official for APEC. The Dean of ADBI Dr. Peter McCawley, delivered the Opening Remarks for the workshop presented in video.
Dr. Man-Gon Park, Director General and CEO, CPSC, welcomed guests and delegates on behalf of the College. Dr. Jeoung-Keun Lee represented the ADBI. Dr. Park and Dr Lee were Course Supervisors for the workshop. For more on the International Workshop, click here. |
